What is Version Protection
Version protection is a software maintenance contract that covers you for version updates to the software.
Each WinGate and WinGate VPN license sold comes with free version protection cover for 1 year from the purchase date.
Having your licenses covered by version protection entitles you to free version updates for your WinGate or WinGate VPN licenses whenever we release an update. As long as your license is covered by version protection you will always be able to use the latest version.
Version protection is valid for one year from the date of purchase of the license. Version protection can be renewed annually at a cost of 25% of the list price of the protected license if the policy is still valid, or 40% if the policy has expired.
For example, say you purchased a WinGate Professional 6.x 12 user license 18 months ago but now you need a WinGate Professional 6.x 25 user license. If you renewed your version protection policy before it expired then your license is currently covered by your version protection policy and you will only pay the difference between the 12 user and the 25 user licenses. If, however, you allowed your version protection policy to expire, you will need to renew your version protection policy before you upgrade to the 25 user license.
